Teiji-bot interrogates authorship through engineering. Where does the artist end, and where does the tool begin?
Developed, coded, and prototyped in 2020, the project manifests as an autonomously controlled robot capable of spray-painting large abstract pieces while being controlled through our android app.
The resulting works are volatile, abstract, and spatially aware occupying the urban plane as a new operational field. Teiji-bot introduces a language that is at once mechanical and expressive, precise yet uncontrollable.
